OUR FOUNDATION

208Massage&Spa offers a personalized and community-focused experience that sets itself apart from larger spas. From your first interaction, whether online, on the phone, or in person, you will immediately notice the passion and dedication that goes into providing excellent service. Conveniently located in beautiful Coeur d'Alene Idaho, the spa features on-site parking and offers appointments seven days a week, making it easy for clients to access a range of luxurious yet affordable services.

In addition to its high-quality treatments, 208Massage&Spa fosters a sense of community by partnering with local small businesses. This collaboration is reflected in the use of locally made, custom aromatherapy oils, candles, jewelry, and apparel.

The spa’s staff is welcoming, friendly, and highly experienced. With nearly 100 years of combined expertise, the massage therapists, estheticians, and team bring a wealth of knowledge to every appointment. Clients can expect exceptional care and treatments tailored to their needs in a warm, inviting environment.

HOW WE STARTED

After being laid off from her job at an orthopedic surgeon's office, owner Karin Smith found herself scrambling for a job.  Having a passion for massage and over 21 years’ experience in the industry, a window of opportunity presented itself during this difficult time. 208Massage started in a small office space on May 15, 2020 near downtown Coeur d’Alene, ID.  Coincidentally, this date also marked the first day personal services, including massage therapy, were allowed in Idaho again after COVID-19 began.  With absolutely no client base, 208Massage relied on its welcoming environment, customer experience, expertise and local networking to draw in clients. As luck would have it, the phone began ringing and day one quickly became fully booked.
 
Within a very short time, appointments started booking out weeks and months in advance and in less than 6 months, Karin found herself looking for a larger location, eventually securing a spot behind a wellness store in Midtown.  After a few months of construction, 208Massage relocated into its new building on December 21, 2020, which featured a vibrant mountain theme and two massage rooms.

Business continued to grow and in July 2021, a huge step was taken by hiring our first additional massage therapist.  As the demand for various types of massage services grew and availability for appointments became more limited, another massage therapist was hired in October 2021.  At the end of October 2021, the opportunity to expand into a larger space became available as the wellness store in front of 208Massage had closed. We found ourselves starting another construction project November 2021, adding an addition 500SF of space to the existing two massage rooms.  The expansion was completed in March 2022 and included the addition of one massage room, one skin care room, a laundry room and a small reception area.

Customer service, staff expertise, and a welcoming environment continue to be our founding pillars as we continue to expand services.
